Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented AGM/DGM – Projects to lead the planning, execution, and commissioning of projects across our integrated steel plant facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary industrial projects encompassing DRI, Power Plant, Steel Melting Shop (SMS), Rolling Mill, Ferro Alloys Plant (FAP), and Sinter Plant.
A. Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of capital projects from concept to commissioning.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure timely completion within defined cost and quality parameters.
2. Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams for smooth project implementation.
- Review and approve technical specifications, drawings, and layouts for all plant facilities (DRI, Power, SMS, Rolling, FAP, Sinter, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to process safety and statutory compliance.
3. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Evaluate and finalize contractors, consultants, and vendors.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure work quality and adherence to project timelines.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety teams for integrated project delivery.
- Lead and mentor the project execution team to achieve excellence in delivery and cost control.
4. Commissioning & Handover
- Supervise plant trials, testing, and commissioning of units.
- Ensure seamless handover to operations with complete documentation and performance guarantees.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Drive innovation, cost optimization, and technology upgrades for project efficiency.
- Identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
B. Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Metallurgical / Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience: Minimum 15–25 years of relevant experience in project management within an Integrated Steel Plant environment.
C. Technical Exposure:
- Project planning & execution of DRI, Power Plant, SMS, Rolling Mill, FAP, and Sinter Plant.
- Understanding of utility systems, automation, and industrial safety standards.
D. Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Excellent knowledge of project scheduling tools (MS Project / Primavera).
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and contract management.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams under challenging timelines.
